When I was younger I loved reading the Little House on The Prairie books as well as the Anne of Green Gables series. I loved when winter had finished and Laura and her family and Anne and Diana would happily welcome summer.
As summer approached, the wardrobe changed as well. The girls would change their thick dresses and layers for light, pretty cotton dresses in various colors. The longer days allowed for more time outside. Picnics, impromptu outings, days spent at the lake and getting lost in the woods were among the many activities that summer allowed.
As summer approaches, I have already switched to light airy fabrics, shorter hems and open-toed shoes. I’m loving pretty white tops at the moment. This particular one I’m wearing in the photos I bought when I went thrifting with a friend last week.
I love summer wardrobe but I also that feeling of having more time and wanting to do more things. I can say for sure that there will be many picnics, beach days, impromptu road trips, flower picking, nature walks and days spent on patios, sipping on a cocktail.
